Sites that do NOT accept US poker players.
This is the section which should be of most interest to online poker players from the USA. As promised,
we are going to show you the poker sites that are still welcoming you to
their tables to play for real money.
CD Poker
Official Statement - "Due to the recent passing of the Unlawful
Gambling Enforcement Act by the United States Senate on September 30,
2006, and its imminent enactment as federal law, we will no longer allow
real money gaming activities from United States residents.
After taking extensive legal advice, our Poker rooms management team
has concluded that this Act when signed into law will force us into the
above action and no other recourse is available.
However, our players may still be able to play for fun but will no longer be
allowed to enter to any ring games or tournaments."
BetCorp
Official Statement - "Following the announcement made by the Company on
Monday 2 October 2006 in relation to the passage of the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (the "Act") in the USA, the Board of Betcorp
has taken extensive advice from its bankers, legal and other advisors as to the
strategic and legal implications for the Company and its subsidiary companies
("the Group").
The Board has concluded that, if the Act is signed into law by the US
President as presently drafted, the Group will no longer be able to accept funds
transfers from customers resident in the United States. Given that a substantial
proportion of the Group's customers are located in the United States, this will
have a very material adverse impact on the future prospects of the Group.
The Board is exploring various possible courses of action in order to
preserve shareholder value in the event that the Act becomes law.
A further announcement will be made in due course."
Dream Poker
Response - "The current legislation regarding online gaming in the United
States and the rules governing online poker and casinos is being reviewed and
actioned.
Due to the governing laws in certain U.S states, Dream Poker will no longer
be accepting customers and any bets from the following states:
- Nevada
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Wisconsin
- Louisiana
- Missouri
- Washington
When there is more clarification in the current legislation, we hope to be
able to resume taking bets and poker traffic from players based within these
states.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we will do our best to keep you
informed of any changes or updates."
Spin Palace Poker
Official Statement - "Fairground Gaming has been advised that the Safe Ports
Act, which contains the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, will shortly
receive Presidential approval and be passed into law. This is the first US
Federal measure to explicitly address internet gaming and the Board has thus
concluded that it is now appropriate to suspend participation by US-based
customers in the company's casino and poker activities. This suspension will be
implemented immediately upon this legislation taking effect.
The Board is confident that Fairground's remaining operations, which derive
revenue from outside the US and comprise some 30% of the original turnover, are
profitable. The Board is attending urgently to appropriate cost-cutting measures
and has adequate cash reserves going forward.
Fairground Gaming continues to monitor the situation across the rest of its
operations and, given the sector upheaval, is reviewing the strategy of
consolidation. In the meantime it is proceeding with appropriate caution in
evaluating opportunities for further geographical diversification."

Jet Set Poker
Official Statement - "We deeply regret to convey that we shall be
discontinuing service at JetSetPoker (the "Site") effective Midnight EST on
Friday, October 13, 2006.
Initially, and as per our previous statement, we were cautiously optimistic in
maintaining operations for our membership after the passage of the "SAFE Port
Act HR 4954" on September 30, 2006 by the U.S. Senate. We nonetheless initially
believed it to be practicable.
However, given the developments during the preceding week, including but not
limited to, the unfavorable view of payment processors and financial
institutions regarding online gambling and the extensive advice of our legal
counsel, we have been instructed to cease activities and comply with this
prohibitionist legislation.
We were fortunate to have a first-rate membership and it was our pleasure to
provide a destination site where members were able to enjoy their favorite card
games and tournaments with the surety that we were to buttress the integrity of
the forum. In this inclement environment however we believe our ability to do so
may become impaired nor do we anticipate this matter to improve in the near
future.
We once again thank you for your patronage of JetSetPoker and deeply regret
these unfortunate circumstances that have materially and adversely impacted both
the Site and the industry."

legislation in the United States, that it will no longer offer its products to
US citizen's resident in the United States.

WPT Online
Response - "Unfortunately, due to the position taken by the US Justice
Department regarding taking bets from US citizens, we are legally unable to
offer a pay for play service to people accessing from America - our registered
customers will also find that they are unable to log in from an internet address
traceable to the United States if they are travelling there.
Our software automatically rejects any registration attempt from a 'prohibited
jurisdiction' - America, amongst others, being a country we cannot supply a full
casino service to."
